Which Year

Today Isaac asked me a question. I cannot remember what is it regarding, but it was about something involving time. I told him the answer,”Last Year.” Then he began to use his hand and touched his ear. “This ear?” He asked as he touched his right ear. I said,”No, not the ear.” Then he asked again, touching another ear, the left ear. Then he asked,”This ear? (pointing to left ear) This ear?(pointing to right ear)” Again I said,”No.”

I think it is so difficult to tell him what is a year when he cannot even know what is a month, a week, and the days in a week.

I think lots of things are going in his mind. While playing iPad, I noticed that several times he purposely chose the wrong answers (because he wanted to know what is the respond like) since he already know the answers (he had done the questions before and perhaps got tired of it). Most of the time he would choose the right answer last.

The next time I am going to show him a calendar and start to teach him about months and year, especially since his birthday would be coming soon in 2 months time. So it is a good opportunity to tell him about years since he would be 3 years old on his birthday. Now he is still 2 years old!
